Joist was once the undisputed favorite app for field tradesmen. However, over recent years Joist transitioned nearly every useful feature—from custom branding and contract terms to recurring billing—behind expensive tiered monthly plans ranging from $14 to $39/month.
Why Contractors are Switching from Joist
1. **No Subscription Fatigue:** A solo electrician or plumber shouldn't have to spend $400+ per year just to generate clean invoices. DoXMitra is free forever.2. **Built-in Regional Tax Precision:** Unlike Joist where you must manually figure out whether local county/city tax applies to installation labor vs materials, DoXMitra's engine auto-populates exact statutory rates.
3. **No Account Necessary:** Generate, customize, and print or download your PDF in under 60 seconds without having to create an account or verify emails on the job site.
4. **Google Drive Cloud Vault:** Save all your client invoices directly to your own Google Drive storage so you own your data forever.
